"Iron arms have withered. Iron feet have lost their power. Buried cannons that will not fire again."
Though Alex at Steel Warrior Studios was unfortunately obliged to close his doors late last year, his contributions to the hobby and the community will not soon be forgotten.
When I met Alex, I was teaching myself the fundamentals of 3d design for the sake of creating the Battletech terrain I wanted to populate my own table with. The idea of producing copies for sale had not even occurred to me, and the terms of any such agreement were far from my mind when he proposed a partnership.
That partnership grew and flourished at a rate that astonished the both of us, leading to a period of success and friendship that inspired me to believe I had something worth offering to the hobby community at large.
But, as is often the case, that success was ephemeral, and explosive growth came with unforeseen challenges which have forced him to take a step back, consider his family, and ensure his feet are on solid ground.
His presence will be dearly missed, but it is my sincere hope that once he has had time to stabilize, the Steel Warrior will rise again.
Alex, thank you for everything you have done. I wish you the absolute best of luck, and I look forward to working with you again in the future.
